Performance Question

I have read many posts here about FIPK's and aftermarket exhausts boosting performance of the F-150. In your opinions, for a 5.4L which of these 2 changes gives the greater dividends?

In the end they are both almost purely equal and your seat cushion will not be able to tell the difference! The thing to consider is the pearly white grin you will get when you step on the gas... I personally got the exhaust first because there is nothing that can beat the sound, rumble, and will ever make you drive with your tunes off just to listen to your truck!

Of course there is supposed to be a sound enhancement with just an intake... My Flowmaster system did get throatier and yet more mellow and not has harsh; but my Air Force One seems to be quiet on its own...

Jim-

It would depend on the exact mods that you do, especially on the exhaust side. In general, comparing a cat-back, the intake should yield a small advantage. My opinion would be to do both; more air in, more air out, both combine for a great mod.

i have both a aftermarket exhaust and a aftermarket FIPK. i noticed the FIPK more than the exhaust...but you know what i noticed more than both of them combined? a superchip. its been my best bang for my buck mod i have done so far. for abou the same price as a FIPK i say go for it first if you are going in "bang for your buck order". just my .02. i have a 4.2 but i figure that as for effects on our trucks they would be proportional. hope that helps.
