Question Air Force One Question

I just received my AF1 kit today. I noticed that the shorter end of the venturi tube is oblong (not round). Is this normal or was it damaged in shipping? The only reason I ask is that it's obvious (from the footprint on the box) that somebody stepped on the box (and the filter element is deformed from the gorilla that stepped on the box).

if the filter is messed up, i dont have a af1, but i would think that it would be round not oval. call the place where you bought it, and ask them, and ask for a new filter good luck

Mine is round on both ends. Follow the link in my sig to see a picture.

You might also make sure you received the C.A.R.B. certification sticker. I had to have my dealer send me one.

Good Luck!

It is required for California emmisions. Although I do not live in California, I never know where I am going to end up.

Most people put it next to Ford's emmision sticker (usually on the firewall or radiator cowl)

Mine are both round. I would say it is shipping damage. I would just call them and they will probably have you send it back to them and they will send you a new one. I had some minor problems and just called them up and they took care of it no questions asked; they are pretty good about it.

I called the guys at AF-1 Friday and they were helpful. They said to just call the guys at TruckPerformance.com (where I ordered form) and they would arrange for return. They even called back with the phone #. No problem so far. I called TruckPerformance.com and was told that since the item was shipped direct from AF-1, that they would have to make the claim against UPS for the damage. They called AF-1 back and "left a message". I was told that someone would contact me Monday

Wil let you knw how this goes, but I can't help but think I'm in for a hassle.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the AF1 system and the Air F/X. J C Whitney has the latter for under $100.00. There are several different manufacturers out there, but the all use reusable, high flow filters and a smooth air intake body. I can't see where the big difference in $ comes in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I sent 2 separate E-mails to Truckperformance.com, and got ignored. Up until now I haven't had any problems, but up until now, I haven't had to return anything. I called AF-1 back and they took good care of me. They're sending a replacement kit with a call tag for the damaged shipment at no cost to me.
