Question Great looks.

What is the best appearance mods that you can do to make a basically stock F-150 XL reg. cab 2wd pickup look cool? I don't want it to look ricey, but I do want it to look cool. I already have a billet grille picked out, and some nice 22" long exhaust tips are on the way. What else could I do?

Hey Wolverine...check out www.karkraft.com they have some cool ground effects and what not...There are a few things... such as the Lightning light set (Headlights,Taillights, and corners) and the ground effects at karkraft will look great on your truck if you can afford them. If you don't have a tonneau cover...you might want to invest in one of those (fiberglass). I have one from A.R.E. and i think it looks great...plus it's functional...like a HUGE trunk...it locks.

Also a set of 18" chrome rims (which can be pretty expensive) will look great

Thanks ricekicker. I like the ground effects package and the billet grills. But I don't think I want to try to make my truck look like a Lightning. They had some cool Harley Davidson stuff though. The only thing my truck has that even resembles a Harley Davidson Edition is a front liscence plate that has the HD logo on it. I have been debating on getting a fiberglass Tonneau cover. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours and how much was it? Just curious.

Cool

I would second the opinion of the hard tonneau cover. For looks I think they are great, and security is a bonus. Cost is a little high though if that matters. I personaly would like to get one, but just can't justify the cost right now.

Id go with Euro lenses in the rear blackouts in the front and a nifty set of fog lights!
Also Windo tint says it all!
Go dark as ya can this is what really sets a vehicle off!

Jimmy Lee, Thanks for the suggestions. I will put some foglights in this summer. I'm certain I'll get my windows tinted soon. And maybe get some head/tail light covers. Oh yeah, I saw your post about the Bugflector II. The guy at the detail shop tried to rip me off as you can see in the Other aftermarket forums. So I bought a Bugflector II. Later man.

Talking 2" drop shackles

i.m.h.o. the best upgrade ,rims and tires, i think second would be lift or lower ,depends on your pref, leave the plastic off! i like a clean truck with rims ,mild lower susp. if you don't keep up with the plastic(fiberglass) it looks cheap!

Here's some exhaust cutouts in a rear bumper? I still have to raise the exhaust tips, I may do that tomorrow. I agree totally on the rims and tires suggestion, they give the truck attitude,,,,98

Thanks for the info and pics guy's. I may lower my truck in the rear 2" with the drop shackles, and put some 18" wheels and tires on it. Then maybe put a billet grille and clear corners on it. I'll have some money coming this summer and I can't wait! Thanks again.

i just got the shackles done on my truck. not a hard project to tackle yourself. and for 40 buck at my door its not to expensive. i would also get a tonneu(sp). i wish i had one, but 750 for a college student is not that easy to come up with

How much are soft tonneau's? I think tinted window's go well with a black soft tonneau cover. I might give that a try also.
