My A.R.E. is one of the best tonneau covers made IMHO. It looks great and plus I can store and lock anything inside.

I have the A.R.E. LS II and would buy another.

When the shop was installing it though, they were about to stick the foam tape to the truck bed rails. I stopped them and told them to stick the tape to the tonneau frame instead. They said something about the lid would slide if installed that way, but I didn't buy it. They flipped the lid over, applied the foam tape to the lid frame and installed the lid. I've never had a problem, leaking or otherwise. It was a cleaner install also.

I've never taken the lid off either, but it should come off clean.

How were yours installed?

Good luck.

I have the A.R.E. lid it has the wing on it. I liked it cause I have installed the Bed Rug bed carpet and it has stayed dry since it was installed. I think my lid cost around 850 with the wing. I also liked the ARE cause it hid all the gray along the top of the bed.
