Post HELP! Looking for a SPOT LIGHT

I have been looking everywhere for a spot light like you see on the police cars, the ones that go through the wind sheld by the side mirrors with the handle inside . Do any of y'all know where I could get one.

Thanks in advance,

do a search. A couple of months ago, someone posted a link to a police vehicle equipment supplier. The site had all of those goodies.

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and still can not find what I am looking for. If you remember the address, could you e-mail it to me, or just post it here?

Thanks again,

Try JC Whitney. I'm almost positive I've seen them in there. At least a long time ago.

Try . . .

http://www.galls.com/index.jsp

. . . page 177 of their current catalog! They do list a spotlight for vehicles WITHOUT a factory installed bracket.

Exclamation

You might check your state/local regulations regarding this type of spot light. It is possible that the installation or use of one might be illegal.

Thanks for all of the replies!!

CBechtel,
Good Point!
My brother-in-law is a cop, I will ask him. I have seen these lightes on trucks before, but can't remember if it was a utility truck or not. The light will be used at my ranch only.

Thanks again,

Legally
The power to the light must be disconnected or a cover must be used when on the road
Power disconnected means getting out of the truck and connecting or disconnecting contacts, so it cannot be done while driving
I drove with uncovered lights and power supplied and never was I stopped
I was told by an officer that spot lights are one of the major causes of road rage that he had seen

v6 runner - my frined just bought a 67(i think) ford falcon(el camino style) thats has had one of those lights on there for years(the guy he bought it from lives across the street so he knows its been on there) and was told that if it was on there before a certain year it could just be chillin there without a cover or disconnecting it. he might have got false info though.

doesnt really matter anyway, when you know 80% of the cops in your city you dont have to really worry about little stuff like that
(keep in mind i will probly be with him whenever he uses it)

Try this for a spotlight

The company that I had bought from in the past
is Unity Mfg, out of Chicago.

I tried a couple of combos for web sites, but no good.
Try a search on Unity Mfg.
