Crimestopper remote starter
I purchased the Crimestopper RS900ER series IV with the transponder adapter and installed it into a 2000 F-150 S'Cab. The setup does not work... engine just keeps trying to turn over, but the PATS won't let it. If I leave a valid transponder key in the ignition, the truck'll start right up using the remote. I then tried to attach a valid transponder key to the column (right on the transponder receiver) and it still would not work unless a key was in the ignition. I have not connected the "factory alarm disarm" wire to anything yet... is this the cause? If so (or even if it may be) what color is the disarm wire and where is it?

You don't need to connect the factory disarm wire.......Your truck wont start because the PATS won't let it, PATS and the factory disarm wire have NOTHING to do with each other, If you do not understand how PATS works I would refer to a professional installer. The Ford PATS is very sensitive and has to be bypassed just right, I recommend using DEI's PATS bypass module, works the best, by far.
GOOD LUCK
GOOD LUCK
I have to put my $00/02 worth in because I just installed
one this past Friday. The DEI / Viper..It is great.. It took
me almost 8 hours, But I did the hole 9 yards, Alarm, Starter,
Bypass. everything works just as the factory fob, with the
one part that you open the driver door only, This I still have to
finish. But I should have my new door handel and key pad
by the week end and I will do it then. The instructions on
this site were a big help. Everything is out of sight and works
great. Go with The DEI, you will not be sorry.

Finished
Finished installing this remote starter yesterday... finally had enough sunlight and very little else to do around the house.
Realized that I had the transponder adapter wired backwards... oops. Once I got that straightened out it worked like a champ! For the price I can't be happier.

Key Pad
Just finished installing my new key pad and handel, also a billet mustang fuel door .
Thanks to everyone who posted instructions on how to install!
I never could have done it without them. I would work on part
and run back to the computer to look at the pictures. It made it
pretty simple, It was not the easyest mod I have done, but with
all your info, it did go well. I am very pleased with the outcome,
Remote start, alarm, and key pad..The turn siginal mirrors are next. Again thanks to everyone and to Paul at Fordparts on line
for makeing it all happen.
