BBK 75MM Throtle Body Problems

I installed a new throtle body this past weekend and I am having some problems with it. The cruise control cable seems to pull the throtle open and causes the engine to rev way to high when I turn it off and at idle about 800 more rpms at idle so I had to take the cruise control cable off.

Also there is about 2 inches more slack in the cable after the install. I will have to pull the slack up at the pedal when I get home tonight.

And during the install I had the battery disconnected so I could reset the computer. But after installing the throtle body and took it for a test drive the check engine light came on after looking under the hood I saw that I forgot to replace a sensor at the throtle body after I did that the check engine light was still on but I think I need to reset the computer to get the light to go off.

Anyone else have any issues with the install and the check engine light?

Something is WRONG......

I replaced mine(see sig.) a few months ago on my 4.6 eng.. Could you have 'swapped' cables, connection points, bracket, etc.? there should be no more 'play' in the cable than you had before the install. The cr/control cable should match right up too. SOMETHING IS WRONG! Recheck every step carefully.

Yep, dissconnect the neg. battery cable again--leave it off for a few minutes--should clear the SES lite.

I'll double check again

Check engine light was off when I went home for lunch so I guess that is fixed...

I will check the cr/control cable to make sure...

also how did you pull the slack out of the cable??????

too much slack right now seems to affect my driving...

Did you notice the difference with the throttle body? I was considering it, but it's $300+ and I wanted some feed back on it before i start seriously considering it. I guess it would also put out more gains on the V10 also, because of the Large Displacement.

Worth the money!!!

I got mine from SUmmit for $221 and some change after getting a few bugs worked out I can say it was worth the money. More top end for sure. My rough idle has gone away as well.
