AirForce One install question
Got my AF1 last night and installed w/o a problem - looks and sounds great!
The directions said to remove the factory intake parts including the entire bowl that holds the stock air filter. This includes the duct that slides into the fender which is attached to the right half of the bowl. My question is this: Since the AF1 filter is opened at the end, would it be better to remove the duct piece from from the bowl, insert it back into the fender and then butt the open-ended AF1 filter up to the piece? Wouldn't it suck in cooler air that way?
In looking at the setup it seems as if that piece, once removed from the stock filter bowl, would be able to fit right inside the hole at the end of the filter. (Not positive about this, though) The way it is now the air from the fender hole would have to be forced inside the engine compartment rather than being sucked in through the intake, as it appears to do with the stock setup.
Any ideas?
Edit: This is in a '98 Expy, 5.4L
