E-Fan Negative Connection for controller?

E-Fan Negative Connection for controller?

I just received the Flex A Lite 270 kit for my '05 F150. The instruction state to connect the controllers pos. and negative to the battery.

Can I or should I connect the negative from the controller to an existing grounding screw in the engine bay?

I just finished the install using the body as ground and everything worked out just fine.
