I went all aftermarket and it's helped alot. With my truck being lifted and hooking up my boat trailer it makes it easy. It was simple also.

I have an Alpine H.U. and bought a backup camera that displays on the 7" screen. It is a must for these trucks. There is no way that I can see behind my truck without it...

It's a life saver...

Where did you purchase your camera and for how much? Will it work on any screen with RCA input?

Thanks in advance.

Good news and possibly bad news... As far as RCA inputs, the camera comes with a 5meter RCA video extension cable. It is an Alpine HCE-C105 rear view camera. It may not work with all systems. I purchased it thought a local shop, Good Vibrations. I paid $200 it lists for $220. The KTX-C10LP License Plate Mounting Kit for HCE-C105 was extra and is listed for $60. It is all metal and has added plate lights, a real plus...

I hope this helps.

There is up-gradation of almost every things, because new things are occurring with the passage of time. So we have to modify or at least update our rules in my point of view.

Most of the big car audio shops will carry back-up camera's. Where are you from?

Here's mine, it's an audiovox backup camera. It's not bad, I wanted something flush mounted.

Here is the one that I'm looking at to replace mine.........

Image Sensor 1/3" Sharp CCD
TV System NTSC
Display Pixels 512 x 492 pixels
Resolution 420 TV Lines
Lens Size 2.8mm
Lens Viewing Angle 120 Degrees
Water Proof IP 67 / IP 68
Power Supply 12V DC
Operating Temperature -20C + 75C
Storage Temperature -40C + 85C
Mounting Hole Size 28mm / 1 1/8"

or this one....Accelevision RVC400IR Color flush mount reverse back up camera with infrared illumination

•1/3" color CCD sensor with sharp Len. Sensing area: 4.9 mm x 3.7 mm
•Water proof night vision camera
•Scanning system: 2:1 interface
•Resolution 420 TV lines
•Mirrored image. Minimum illumination 0 LUX / F1.2 with IR
•AGC: auto White balace: auto
•Electronic shutter: 1/60 - 1/10,000 second
•Current consumption: Max 100mA. Power supply 12V DC
•Lens f=2.8mm / F=2.0 110 degree view angle
•IR LED night vision: 9 LED lights about 20ft at low light condition
•One year warranty parts & labor

I understand that some of the best cameras are made by Pioneer/Sony/Alpine, I just wished they offered a flush mount

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a Gryphon CTS, and would definitely be interested in one of the flush-mount camera's like you have. Just not sure if I would get any grief about putting in my tag like that, although that's how I would like to do it.. So how exactly is that mounted? Is it supported strictly by the car tag? Also, what's the main differences between the one's you plan to get vs the one you already have installed?

Thanks,

I have the same one Gator, but its mounted beside my Florida license plate because I was told it was against the law to drill into the plate.. Either way, great camera and it also has nightvision. Definately a must have.

Just my 2 cents.
It might not be a good idea to post photos of your license plates. It helps people locate your vehicles if they want to steal them.
