I have on one mine, but its for a 97-98 4.2 so its cheaper than the other UDPs. Cheaper because it doesn't have the harmonic balancer attached to it. Not sure what year/motor you have but its a pretty simple bolt on for adding a few more ponies.

you will lose some power to your accessories. i dont recall the % number you lose but it under drives the accessory it is attached to. if anything, install lightweight pulleys instead if you dont want to lose some power to your accessories.

I have a set that I am hoping to install this weekend if the weather cooperates. From the research I have done they really don't effect your accessories enough to worry about. Does change your idle though which can be adjusted with a tuner. I will post once I have them installed.

I bought a set, crank pulley and water pump pulley off ebay for 30 bucks. They were hypertech brand that was discontinued but I am pretty sure they were like 50 percent underdrive. May wanna look on ebay for different brands for cheaper. I can say my edge says I get better mpg just with underdrive pulleys and my e fans go on by next weekend.

I don't think it would be really the best situation in the world, to cut the speed of the water pump. Then the alternator, plus add the current draw of Efans. It may work, but when you turn on all of the other accessories, like heater, headlights. Stereo, and others, you may have a negative current draw from the battery. You may end up jump starting it allot. But that is just my opinion.

DO NOT use underdrive pulleys on a daily driver. Sure, things will still run "good enough", but "good enough" just isn't. Water pump - you really wanna slow down the main component in keeping your motor cool? alternator - you WILL see a difference in your lights dimming when you turn something on (i.e. stereo, map light, etc.), and if youre running efans, forget about it.

UDs are similar to the intake tornado devices in the fact that they prey on people who will do anything to get extra mileage out of their vehicles with the economy and gas prices the way they are. However, unlike tornados, pulleys actually do work. But you dont get something for nothing. This is race technology for dedicated race vehicles, and will wreak havoc on a daily driven vehicle. Trust me, I had some myself a few years back. Go over to ftw (ford truck world) for a larger knowledge base if you dont believe me.

They only make UDP crank pulley for the 97-98 4.2s..at least I haven't found anything for the water pump etc for this year/motor. I haven't seen any post from the OP stating what year/motor he has, so if the OP sticks with just a UDP crank pulley on a DD than he will be fine. I've had my UDP on for over 2 yrs without an issue.

I have been running UDP's for a year and half now on this daily driver and over a year on my last daily driver. I also have electric fans and a decent stereo. My truck has NEVER needed to be boosted. It will start even in -40 weather with out being plugged in.

Thats kinda scary! I dont know if I could trust that. You get what you pay for right? Plus 50% is way way way low. Most are 25% at most.

With a 25% udp, your alternator will have a full output at 750 rpm. I read on one website. Ill try and site my sources.

I ran MAC pulleys on the green truck for a while (until it went boosted) power steering was a lil' sluggish while idling sitting still (but I also run wider tires).

I use an ASP underdrive pulley on my daily driver. I also have the Troyer electric fan kit. No issues.
