Hey guys,

Im gettin some money here soon and well i was wondering what i should spend it on accessories wise? Any Suggestions?

I have a 2005 ford f150 xl regular cab 4x2

 

Man, I would bank most of it if I were you. Times like these.. money in the bank is where its at. However, if you are really wanting to spend it there is a butt-ton of things you can do with $800 bucks. What all have you done to the truck as of now?

 

so far just a center jump seat and stock cd cass mods

 

I would get an exhaust system of some kind put on. Even if its just a muffler you will be suprised at the power its frees up, and everyone loves the sound. Or, get that CAI you listed in your sig. I would lean more towards putting more horses under the hood, but I am just that kind of guy. You can lower it, and get an exhaust and a CAI. All depends, like I said there is alot of stuff you can do but the question is are you looking for looks or performance?

If your leaning towards the performance side, I would definately look into a CAI and a tuner. But if you really want to enhance the appearance of your truck, go ahead and lower it. And if you have any $$$$ left, possibly PTM the door handles

 

Exhaust... do the DWV intake to save cash... and maybe some other things.

 

Well you can get an autospring leveling kit(2" I believe) shipped for $90 bucks. You can put it on yourself too, but you will need to get your truck re-aligned.

I highly recommend super 44's from flowmaster, because thats what I have and I think it sounds amazing. You can buy the mufflers cheap, and then go get them put on and end up spending around $300. It depends on shop to shop. I think the reason I ended up spending around $300-350 was because my exhaust is dual. A cold air intake is going to run you around $250-350, and if you ask my opinion really is not worth it in the long run for the amount of performance you get out of them. Like TruckGuy says just do the DIY intake mod for your truck.

I also highly suggest a tuner/programmer. If you take a quick look at the tuner/programmer section you will know why. Guys rant and rave about how awesome they are all the time. You can totally wake up a stock truck with a decent programmer, even a basic edge evo would do the trick. A decent programmer would run you around $300-400 though, but a programmer combined with an exhaust and you will think you are in a different truck.

Something from heaven is what I think. I can't tell you the last time I used the radio in my truck. then again I wanted dual exhuasts since I was little and got exactly what I wanted

It really varies. I live in MA so it seems like the average price for a quality si/do set-up is around 400-500. Mine was $550 ( 14" si/do magnaflow (Part # 12198), 2.5 piping after the muffler and 45'd behind the rear tired with 4" x18" SS tips. The tips are 80 - 100 dollars total so that adds $$$, but they look awesome and will last for many many years.

 

It is a big toss up really. You could get a really nice set-up for less than $800 dollars though for sure. I bought two super 44 series flowmaster mufflers for like $64 a piece. So figure roughly $135 and then went and spent $125 on installation and another $100 on stainless steel 3 and 1/2inch rolled tips. So for less than $400 I made out with a really awesome sounding truck. The first time I heard it start up I was blown away.

It all depends on where you get it put on, and where you live.
