alright so i'm aboutto buy a train horn.. but i have no clue where to place the horns... i am going to put the compression tank in my tool box.. but i don't know whether to get the shockers 228vx which has 4 horns or the bandin 400 which has two horns.... please help me decide..... where should place the horns and what setup should i get? i have an 05 f150 .. extended cab 6.5' bed.

Spare tire location is a good place.

i have mine like right before the spare tire bolted through the bottom of the bed of the truck. and the air tank is on the side of the truck, i welded two strips of steel to the bottom of the frame and the tank is bolted down on top of those.

Yeah, the passenger side frame is a good place for the air compressor and tank and the ashtray is a great place for the little button.

Hey guys I dont mean to be a threadjacker or anything but I was wondering. How do you guys like having train horns? Are they still just as loud on the highway? Do you use them to get those little cars that like to drive ten under in the fast lane out of the way?

i still have my spare tire in. mine is above my exhaust bolted to the bottom of the bed in front of the spare. i had to take one of the horns off to get them above my exhaust pipes but then just put it back on once bolted down. and now that i have the body lift there is a lot more room there.

Question: I don't off road alot at all, but for those times where I might wanna splash around are the compressor and horns safe?

i can vouch for the horns being fine because i've had mud and water in mine and i just blow it all out, but my compressor is under the hood so it doesn't get too muddy under there.

nice job Standstone......Very clean set up...Love the Nathans!!!!! I want a set

Here are my horns......The reason I mounted them facing out the rear is because I did not want them getting filled with water while driving
