siren speaker mount

Hey guys, having some issues finding a good way to mount my whelen SA314p siren speaker. I just bought a 2006 F-150 4 door flareside and I want to keep it as nice as possible... not "ghettoing" it up. It seems a bunch of yall are volunteers and could probably show me how yall installed it. I have searched the forum, and all over google for that matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The best place is probably right behind the bumper. You'll need to find or fabricate some brackets.

Definetly keep it some where thats fairly open to the air so the sound isn't dampened. Like the above post i had a speker mounted in the engine compartment and the moved it to behind the bumper. Its a lot less noisy in the cab and much more audible outside

well it's definitely going to go in the grill. It is for moving traffic so it needs to be as high as possible without being visible.. The visibility issue is just because i don't want to see it. Whelen makes a bracket for my truck supposedly but i can't find any dealers that sell it. I guess it's time to pull the mig out and get creative!

I have My siren speaker behind the grill. My 02 has a plastic crossmember that ran across at the perfect height. Very loud out front. Where are you mounting your switches??

I posted a reply but it never posted.... huh....

anyways, I want to keep everything "secret squirrel" on the inside, so I bought a Carson SC-550 remote control siren/light controller. The amp is under the seat and the remote control will be in the console until I want it.. out of sight, out of mind.

I've discovered that the expedition bracket will work on my truck (with slight modification). My nearest whelen distributor is tracking me down one. If it works, I'll post a pic for those interested.

I have been told the bracket for the expedition works for our trucks. I haven't tried it yet though.

Leave room for adding that second speaker later if you can guys. I just added a second speaker to my SS700 to get the max 200w output and man what a difference! I don't hardly even need the lights in the daytime to get traffic out of the way now!

except that it's illegal to run lights without siren and vice versa. there is no longer a such thing as code 2. if you get hit running one without the other, insurance will not cover you. just something to chew on.
