Remote Start

So, I'm looking for a remote start for my truck. But, my truck is a diesel... Are there any remote starts out there that will work with it being a diesel (wait to start light and all)? I want something with the 2-way pager too (think CA670).

the CAs have the wait to start feature.
I know my two way 671 can be setup like that with a 10-15-or20 second delay to crank.

Most respectable brands have the wait to crank feature.

Right, but, I don't want just a timer. The glow plug time varies on several things...

Just plug your truck in at night and it shouldn't take more than 10 seconds for the light to go off.

I'm assuming your truck has a block heater?

Yes, it has a block heater, and running it isn't cheap. Also, there are times when the truck cannot be plugged in.

just went over the wiring schematics for the ca 671, and it has a wait to start input. It connects to the desiels wait to start output for the light and has a diagram to wire wether its a postive output or a negative out.
This is another feature besides the actual timer wait to start i posted above.

The Temp controlled start is also nice if your worried about it being too cold out for the truck. I dont have that set up as theres no need for it here in my area.

It also has something about a turbo timer, although i didnt look into detial on that.

A turbo timer will allow the truck to run for a set amount of time after the ignition is off... a guy here @ work has his edge set up that way most of the time he is in the office before his truck turns off

Well, I got a SRT9000 for Christmas. It's pre-wired for KC Auto sound, but I don't see anything in the instructions about hooking up a wire to the glow plug controller.

I have an Astrostart 5224 and in the instruction manual it states that it will work for gas and diesel engines. To get it to work on a diesel you have to install an extra relay for the "ready to start" signal.

So, Travis is saying that this unit doesn't have the glow plug wire...

Well... does it? I haven't looked "too" in-depth into the manual yet, but if the 671 has it, then you'd think the top of the line 9000 would have it.
