Anybody have any experience with this starter? I just want remote start, I have no need for anything fancy. I also really don't want to mess up any factory features like the lights coming on when I unlock the truck.
Also, what kind of range can I expect with this unit?
Thanks,
Chris

That's a pretty cool unit. I have installed it before for a friend at work. I have purchased quite a few different units for friends, neighbors and family. It all started with the first one I purchased from Travis (kcautosound) and he made an installer out of me. Great guy to talk to and do business with.
I would put the remote range around 600 or so feet. What it does is after you remote start the vehicle it will then flash the button to confirm that the vehicle has been started. The remote is quite small to so it goes good on the key chain.
The 440tw has a pretty cool feature that will work with your truck great. It has a adjustable crank crank time up to 2 seconds so there is no need to connect a tach wire. Our F150s have a anti-grind circuit built into them. Try to grind your starter after you have started the truck. It's not going to happen. So basically program the system to overcrank the ignition. Starts every time. Also with the XK04 bypass module for our trucks it guarantees a perfect start every time.
Don't hesitate to give Travis a call or fire off an email to him. He can answer any question you throw at him. His knowledge is amazing. I know he could use the business. Last time I talked to him he had dropped the Ford Accessory contract and it's been slow. The remote start season is coming up though and last year he was super busy.
