E-fans (suggestions?)
E-fans (suggestions?)
Hi guys,
I an thinking of putting in some E-fans to help improve HP and MPG's on my 05 FX4. Anyone have a recommendation as to what e-fan to use and where would be the best place to purchase? Thanks for your suggestions in advance!

i pieced it together myself..controller from auto zone and 2 15" fans off ebay.. no name brand or anything.. i live in abq so its hot here...
BUT i just saw where you are in KS...man it's hot as sin there. i was down in ulysses over july 4... that place just sucks. GREAT for pheasant hunting... but it's a 10 on the boredom chart

Thanks for the info. I may look into that. That would save me some significant cash.
We do have good bird hunting out this way, but rural communities are usually right up there on the boredom scale. Take care, and thanks for your feedback.

Dont cheap out to much on parts or you and your truck will be overheating at the side of the road.

Junk yard...@ mine its 30 bucks for any E-fan set up you pull out Dual or single. and get a controller from Autozone.
Dont cheap out? the only people ive seen on here have probs with E-fans are the ones who buy the kits for 500.00$$ then they have a thread saying stuff broke and the fans dont kick on. my junkyard Lincon Mark 8 fan has never givin me a prob at all

i'll back him up on this too man...usually i say go the more expensive route also, but i put alot, i mean ALOT of strain on my truck and motor
and i haven't TOUCHED my fans in 3 years. i installed a mini light on my pod by my pressure gauge that comes on when my fans are on JUST for that added reassurance but the truck has NEVER ran hot....
just make sure when you're mounting the solenoid for the wiring harness to put it somewhere where it WILL stay dry.....

You will love this mod. Cooler AC, more power, better MPG's.

Crash/Shifty/Irish,
Thanks for all of your feedback! I can't wait to get started on this to reap all of the benefits. Could any of you send me some pictures of what your set up looks like?
Thanks!

i went with the DC Control FK35 and i'm waiting for my Markvii fan to arrive. the fan is supposed to move 4800 cfm and the controller is reliable from what i've read. it's a little more expensive than the DIY kits you can put together from vatozone, but cheaper than the $400 kits from troyer and elsewhere. i'll have about $200 invested in it but i think it's more than worth it to have OEM reliability in the fan, and a soft-start feature in the controller.
