Nerf Bar Clips

I just bought some used nerf bars from a member. The bolts are there just 2 clips. Called up the Ford dealership and they didn't list a part number. Anyone have that part number or know where I can get some? It's for 04 F150 Screw oval sidesteps.

Man!!!! I have the same problem. Except I missing 4 bolts and all the clips. I don't think Ford has a part # for them. I was at the dealership yesterday and asked the parts guy if they had any. He went in the back and looked, but couldn't find any. He said that all hardware comes from the manufacture of the steps as a package and not available seperately. He thought that he may have some lying around, but didn't.

I went to auto parts store, they had some clips, but they were shorter and only fit standard size bolts. These that come with the steps are metric and wouldn't fit..........I'm going to try one more store, but will probably just go to local hardware store and get all new bolts and nuts.............

Hope this helps!!!!

goodwood...........if you haven't found any clips yet, go to local hardware store or maybe Lowes, Homedepot, etc...... I found some, they look exactly like the factory ones. The size I have are #8 metric, should be the same for you too.......Good Luck!

I think I've got a few extras from when I took off my factory step bars and put the AMP steps on. Let me know if you're still looking for them and I'll send them your way.

The nuts won't work on the upper portion. You'll need clips.

Thank you very much. Hopefully the part numbers are good. If not you'll be hearing from me.

I haven't confirmed if they are the exact/correct part but the cost is $7.50 a piece.

I'm gonna have to spend over 100 bucks in clips just to install these bars. I'm returning the side steps.

Word of advice- make sure and have all the hardware to install.

I don't want to search for nuts and bolts and the hardware store and then pay a preminum for clips for the top portion of the steps to install. Not worth the trouble, time, effort or money.

Update on the nerf bar clips. The aforementioned part number is for the bottom portion of the install. I assume they can be remedied by some locking nuts.

The top portion is different. I don't have the p/n so if anyone has that number please post or PM me. Thanks. The top clips are vital for installation.

Like JDeere said, just go to a local Ace Hardware if you have one. I just removed my OEM nerf bars for a very thorough cleaning and repainting of the brackets. The clips were a little beat up, and the threads were a little cross-threaded. So I went to Ace and picked up 12 new clips, which were EXACTLY the same as the OEM ones. Same length, same threads, same color, same everything! I also got some new bolts too. Total cost was well under $10 total.
