Troyer EFan Controllers

Can anyone tell me what brand controllers are included with the Troyer Efans? I am very interested in them, but I want to know which controller he uses for his fan kits.

Thanks!

I don't know but I've heard they are garbage. Call him and ask.

You will find a lot of people on here that have had problems with his controllers/relays.

They were a constant problem for me and I finally switched over to a Spal controller.
You can find them here, along with some better options:

I have the troyer setup, will this do both fans, and run one with the ac like they are now? Or would I need 2 controlers?

thanks

They are Derale controllers available at most performance stores including "Troyer". Look into the SPAL controller.

One controller can do two fans. Just add the constant running amps of both fans, and get the controller with the number in the name that's closest, but bigger. For example, if both fans run at a constant 40 amps, you'd get the FK-50P. If they both run at 30 amps constant, you'd get the FK35.

In the accessories page, you can get a splitting loom that lets you connect the two fans.

bad troyer performance experience

i couldn't help notice this thread. i bought a set of troyer fans a couple of months ago. everyone is right the controllers they use are garbage! the first set melted away and made my truck over heat. i called them and they said they knew they had problems with them. even though i had to tow my truck back to the shop i was understanding and gave them the benifit of the doubt. they assured and promised that the problem had been fixed and to give them another shot with the new controllers. well i did and it only lasted a couple of weeks. this time more damage then the first. it melted the fuse holders, both relays and sockets. if i didn't shut the truck off it probably would of caught fire if left long enough. keep in mind these relays are mounted away froom any heat and are actually in a spot that gets air circulation. and this still happened! wtf right? i finally had enough of this. i ripped all their crap out and did it the way my gut was telling me to do it in the beginning. i used high amp relays, with sockets and circuit breakers. i also upgraded the power wire to ten guage. the fans now work perfect. but after i got it all working and drove my truck it wasn't right. the truck was skipping a beat or two. i took it to the dealer where they discovered a blown head gasket. super wtf! all from some cheap relays form troyer performance. i have a call into them right now to see what will happen and see how good their customer service is. i allready have waited a week since my first call. i had to call again today. so far not impressed with them. i will keep everyone updated with what happens.

The blown head gasket is likely coincidental. Even if it got hot enough to trigger the fail-safe cooling, it's unlikely that caused the head gasket failure.
