Question moon roof

I have been thinking about getting a moon roof installed in my screw. I am curious as to what will happen to the overhead console and dome light. I would also like to hear from anyone that has done this and see pics if possible.

Well I might be interested in buying your O/H console. (is it tan?)

Just another thought: Is anyone aware of any F150's with "T" tops or a place that may do them if possible? It has been warm here the last week or so and the thought of removable "T" tops crossed my mind? What do others think of it? Dennis

Funny you brought that up... I have actually thought about T tops, but have never looked for a place to do it. I figured that it would make for a unique truck, but it might look kinda funny on a screw. oh and btw my overhead is graphite.

I have a moon roof on my Screw. The dealer installed it.It is about 2" wider & 2" longer than the factory one.It slides between the headliner & roof , It will also close automatically when you turn off the truck. They replaced the console with a short one still shows temp & direction, Looks like they moved the dome light back a few inches. I just picked up my Screw on Saturday. I will try & post some pics in the next couple of days.

I was thinking about T-tops on my truck also. I think it would look great and set the truck apart from others. Just don't think i could afford it.

I've got a Holandia power moon roof in mine... they actually chop the back 2/3 of the overhead console for it. They did a very professional looking job. I don't have any real good pics of it yet... Hopefully in the morning.

I do have pics of the console with my custom switch plate...

Kind of gives you an idea of the size of the sunroof...

They're running this...

which is located here...

which powers (from left to right) the radar detector, the CB wiring, the lumi-logo, the sunroof (the black switch), and one set of KC's. The two on the right are also for lights eventually.

All of them use a combination of 2 different power sources (i.e. on with key, on with parking lights, on with hi-beams, or constant hot) with a dual-color LED to indicate which power source is being used.

Each circuit controls its own relay and is fed by its own circuit on the fuse block.

I'm slowly, but surely, running out of switches.

I wouldn't think that you could do T-tops in our trucks being that the doors have frames all the way around them. Look at any car that had T-tops in the past and you'll notice that the doors stop at the base of the window and do not go all around the top. I doubt it would be easily done either. Just my $0.02

Lariat4WD, Thanks for the insite. Never gave those door frames a thought. T tops sure would've been nice and set the truck apart from the others. Dennis

in addition to what lariat said, I think it would also weaken the structure of the truck too much since it is such a large roof and all.

If you put in T-Tops, my thinking is that since the SCrew roof is so long (which is why it has those rows of high and low channels in it) you would highly alter the structural integrity of the roof. This would not be a good idea in a rollover crash. All vehicles that I have seen with T Tops always had a short roof area..ie Camaro. Make any sense??
