Child Seats
As a first time dad this past week, I would like to introduce my new son to the joys of my F150. I cannot find an infant rear facing car seat that works on the back bench of my 1997 S/C. The main problem seems to be the seat belt anchor is not located in the bight (where the seat back and bottom meet). Can anyone help with this problem or will I be forced to drive my wife's Honda whenever I want to take my son somewhere. Please, anything but that.

Daddy B; The best place to get accurate and correct information regarding the installation of a rear facing infant car seat is to look on the http://www.safekids.org website and look for your state information. This website will give you names of NHTSA certified technicians who will know precisly how to install the car seat in your F150, along with installation checkpoints that are setup to check for proper installation. Ford also provides for teather points behind the back seat, and Ford will provide the anchor strap for free.

if S/C means supercrew I can't answer your question, but if it's supercab:
our car seat fit just fine. granted we bought the car seat long before the truck and i tried the car seat so many times that my wife got disgusted just to make sure it would fit on the bench seat. i found that i have to move the front bench up just a bit with the handle down, but other than that it fits just fine. can't imagine the rear bench is that much different in the 97 than the 01. if you need pics, email me and i'll shoot them your way. abo@email.byu.edu

First of all congrats on the baby 
that website mentioned is a great place for info on this sort of thing. I just have a reg cab - so my little angel rides shotgun, with the airbag turned off.
