Cool 1997-1998 projector headlights

I already have projector headlights, but they didnt fit properly like they are suppose to, some mentioned that the 1997 and the 1998 have a different front style and i would have to find some headlights that are made for only the 1997 - 1998 front style, anyone know anything about this, or can anyone help me find some projectors that would fit????[IMG][/IMG]

your projectors fit fine. its the older '97s that have a different light housing and most aftermarket headlights dont fit.

from the picture you cant tell that well, the actual back of the projector did not fit in the hole like it was suppose to, im not sure if i just bought some bad projectors or what the deal is, but when they were putting the projectors for me at body shop, they showed me where the lights were suppose to go into and they didnt fit right, do yaw think i should just buy some other projectors?

hey if your trucks pre 6-96 mfd date you header panel needs to be changed out to make the newer style headlights fit in. i assume it is, you have 2 routes i know of. ford and aftermarket replacement. oh and BE careful with those wires on the projectors, if it was like mine it tried to smash them.

ford wanted $160
my local distributor here called a-star asked $40 for the part.

well technically it will fit all those models but the first models of the 97 had a different header panel, that later on that same design year was changed. just look up as if your truck was a 99. the part will still say that it is for a 97-03. the chances of you actually getting a header panel that was made before they changed the design later in 97 is almost impossible!

if you do buy one just do a mock trial to see if it fits be careful and dont scratch it up real bad, that way if it doesnt fit you can send it right back!

ill take a look for you and post a link! but it might just be because of the over stock of parts! some of the older 97 header panels were used on 98's thats why i told you to get one for a 99... that way it will be less chance for error! but like i said keep it in good shape make sure it works if not send it back!
