Question Fog Light Install

Hey guys..
Does anybody have any pictures or advice on installing some foglights? I want the switch to be near the parking/headlight switch.

Any information would be appreciated.

Freezer...

Yeah, I was given all the codes and regs from my older brother (Sac county sherrif). Plus I'm not the type to run with them on unless it's that dark or it's foggy, which happens alot in the central valley.

Thanks for the info, the install went fine, I'll post them to my website this week.

5150PhD, if you're going to do your own mount job instead of a factory type installation you may want to check the laws first. After I installed fog lights on my truck I visited the local CHP office to check the legality of driving with fog lights on. In California you can drive with fog lights on in any weather, but you cannot have both fog lights and high beams on at the same time.

But what you may want to check out, there are laws regarding mounting location. I think the law said that the fog lights must be mounted vertically in the same line as the head lights. The mounting location used by cooltrucks would be illegal in CA. So if you are concerned about getting a ticket because of an illegal installation, then visit your local CHP office and ask them. There are laws about mounting location, maximum intensity, and use with other lights on the vehicle.

P.S. If you are willing to spend several hundred, Ford sells a kit that includes a new lower bumper valance, factory fog lights, and wiring kit. That's what I did to get fog lights on my 4x2.

Cool

Ok here they are....Blazer Driving/Fog Lamps (Projector style 55W)

You can check my website for the installation. Note: Ignore my instructions on headlamp install I didn't know about the two little tabs that make it easy..

Thanks for all your guys' input and info. It really made it easy.

Hey Cooltrucks
They mount on a flat spot that's part of the bumber section above the air dam. I used the flat bracket with sticky tape and made the bracket to allow the lamp to position properly. If you want more, I can try and take some better pictures.
