streamlight stinger install
streamlight stinger install
alright folks, i have a streamlight stinger with the auto charger and home charger that came with it and i want to install it in my supercrew...anybody else out there already installed one or something similar in their trucks? im looking for mounting ideas...the mounting spot needs to be unobtrusive and out of the way, yet within easy reach when i need it...
You will need: Streamlight 12 Volt DC Direct Wire Charge Cord - Model 22050

I still use the "old school interrogation tool" Streamlight SL-20X. Mine is mounted on the lower portion of the dash, to the right of the center control console, just to the left of the glove box, where the lower dash begins to slope inward towards the floorboard.
Some of the tow truck guys mount their lights on the floorboard between the driver's seat and driver's side door. It is in a very handy location for when you are climbing in and out of the cab, and easily accessible without having to reach all the way in towards the center console. Tow trucks are a little bigger than my truck. In my truck, there does not appear to be enough room for a full size light in that same space. However, you may be able to fit a Stinger.
Perhaps you can mount it on the dash to the lower left of the steering wheel, somewhere above the emergency brake release lever, so that you can simply reach in through an open window to access your light.
The Stinger is small, light in weight, and locks into the charger.
You can even mount the charger on the A pillar just above the grab handle.
I have also thought about mounting in a vertical position in the rear of the cab just below the rear window, alongside the vertical weapon mounts.

Or perhaps on the headliner, either centered between the visors, next to an overhead weapon mount, or along the door frames for easy access from the exterior of your vehicle.

i dont have that direct wire charge cord...i do however have the cigarette lighter cord that came with it, i was just going to cut off the cigarette adapter and use that as the direct wire, everything is identical, just has that adapter on there instead of the bare wires...
