My brother and I are in a debate about some nerf bars for my new truck. Since there's next to no chrome on the truck, I say it'll look better with black powdercoated bars. I'm getting a black bedliner sprayed in and the windows tinted, so I think the silver / black will look good together.

My brother says to go with the chrome bars. He thinks there'll be enough black on the truck once the other upgrades are done and that the chrome will look good next to the wheels.

I'd just like some other opinions before I spend a bunch of money on something that won't look good once it's installed. Thanks!

If you mean WHY any nerfs at all, it's for two reasons. #1 I like the way they look. #2 My dad (who rides with me a lot) only has one leg and it would make it a LOT easier for him to climb in and out of the passenger seat. Then there's the other 1/2 reason... The cute redhead I date is only 5'4" and could use a little help getting in and out of the truck hersef (not that I mind watching her struggle a little).

It's a sweet looking truck. I'd even consider replacing everything thats chrome with black parts. Wheels, bumpers, badges and put a black brush guard on it. I'm a blackout fan though.

Definitely BLACK! There's to much chrome & "bling" out there. Chrome belongs on engines, exhausts, or wheels. Good lookin' truck!

 

Wow, black 6 chrome 0. Black it is then. They're also about $100 cheaper. As you can see, the truck is bone stock, so the only chrome is what the factory put on (the F-150 emblem, the ring around the Ford logo, etc).

My only reason for hesitating on these upgrades is that my dealership is giving me a seriously hard time about fixing some warranty issues. I had a bad tire (belt came apart) and they replaced it but now my tire pressure light is on and all the tires are at 35. I have to yell and scream every time I go back there to even get someone to look at it.

The money's in the bank and my check card is burning a hole in my pocket, but I don't want to change ANYTHING until the dealer solves all my warranty problems so they can't try to blame me for any of it.
