Factory repair manual

I've owned Haynes and Chilton books before, but they usually cover such a broad range of years and models I've got to dig for the info I need. On my last car (1999 Chevy Metro) I was able to get a factory repair manual. It was specific to that model year and was a LOT more useful than the other manuals.

Do they make the same thing for Ford trucks? I know I may have to wait a while since I've got a 2007, but can anybody provide some info for when I might need it down the road?

Thanks.

Keep watching ebay, the cd versions will show up and they're a lot cheaper!

I got the DVD version and not only does it cover multiple year models of the F150, it comers other vehicles as well and also for multiple years. Easier to cram it on a dvd disc than hard copies. If you get a vehicle you know you will keep for a long time and work on yourself, always go for the service manual, whatever form it comes in. Haynes and Chilton manuals are ok up to a point, the factory service manual will go much deeper into detail. And service manuals cost significantly more than those other prints.

I cant remember what I got mine for off of eBay but it wasnt bad compared to my Passport manual(~$65) or my Talon Tsi(~$90 for two volumes).

I have 2 of the 98's manuals, which are about 3" think a peice, and found out they don't have wiring diagrams, wiring coloring charts among other things. The 2 manuals cost me about $240 from ford and come to find out there are "supplements" to these manuals, which were the main portions I wanted, I would highly advise against them. Although they are better than chiltons/haynes

Personally I like Mitchell on Demand, but then I work in a garage now
