E-Fans Temp ?
E-Fans Temp ?
I was curious to what temp I should set my fans to come on. I have the edge so I can see the current temp. The temp stayed about 192-196 with the stock clutch fan. What is a safe temp ? Right now it's set to come on at 198. Thanks
I figured my stock thermostat is 198 because when im driving on the highway thats usually what it stays at (198)

Had mine set at 198, but backed it off to 196 just for a little wiggle room. Probably no big deal. Noticed the 198 setting it would go as high as 202. The lower the setting the more the fans run. Factor that in too.
My '04 has been pretty much a dyno queen as I have tested many, many parts for Troyer and he has used my vehicle as a bench mark.
My fans are set at 202 and 212 as the truck makes its peak power right around 200 degrees.
I spent last week in Charlotte where the temperature was near 104 degrees for several days and driving in city traffic even with the new Roush Supercharger the truck performed great with the efans set where they are.
(I believe the stock thermostat is 194 degrees)
My fans have never come on while traveling at highway speeds.

My efans come on at 206. They only do when I am sitting for along period of time (waiting for food, wife running into a store etc.)
Normal driving runs at 192 w/o the efans. Sitting at a red light it may get up to 198 before I start moving and get air flow.

Hey Marc...did you run your "power on" through the wheel well and then to the fuse box ? I have yet to install my efans as I am trying to determine where I want to mount my controllers and I am still trying to decide if I want to go through the firewall or tap in to the wire harness.

Yeah, I spoke with Neal and he described the process to me..I am a little hesitant to tap in to the wire harness..not usre how easy it will be ?!

For reasons that I choose to keep confidential in respect to Mikes tuning abilities and our past friendship, I will no longer endorse him or his business here.
