looking at getting a reverse camera, need some input

i'm wanting to get a back-up camera and wondering where some of you might recommend buying one from.

also does anyone have one that has night vision as well? found some on ebay but the price seems too low which means they're probably $***.

is it possible to mount the camera (assuming it will fit) next to the license plate where the lock for the spare is?

Look up your local RV house, the one near me carries them in-stock, though the cameras all seemed a little big to fit in the license alcove without being totally obvious and ugly looking.

Ebay: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I've seen pinhole type cameras for RVs and the visual looks pretty good. Problem is that the camera itself is a longer barrel type. That would not good for mounting through a bumper.

A problem with night vision is the no lighting assisted are high priced. If you get one that had assisted lighting, it is MUCH bulkier.

my brother in law got one off ebay, he said it was pretty cheap, not sure if it has the night vision... he drilled a hole in the middle of the license plate, cant really tell its there unless your really looking.

i have one by pioneer and paid 105 for its. looks good at nite and in the day crystal clear. from what i have learned is the monitor plays an important role in it. i have the pioneer zq and the camera just plugged in perfectly ( made for pioneer decks). my brother brought the same camera after seeing mine and his is not has clear at nite. shows five fuzzy lines going through when it goes to night vision but in reverse mode its clear. seems that the deck cant process the reverse flip mode but in normal its clear. make sure that your monitor supports the reverse view and you should be good.

I found this site http://www.tadibrothers.com and it has a night vision for $169 with a 3.5 inch screen or a 7 inch screen for $199 I'm looking into that unit some more. The pic looks sharp on the 3.5 and it shows with a night pic on it.
