New Troyer E-Fan brackets.....

I just reinstalled my Troyer dual 16" efans, using their brand new mounting brackets. Many here know that I have been associated with Mike and his Company for many years and have had the opportunity to take part in a lot of his R&D'ing. I now have the first set of their new fan brackets....
They are very well thought out and designed. They attach to the top and bottom of the radiator with the inclosed hardware, and have adjustable mounting brackets that will fit both of the radiator styles used on the 2004 and up models.
No more rods or plastic ties through the radiator..
They are also offering a new option for tapping into the 12v switched power so you don't have to run a wire into the fuse box on the passengers side anymore. They identify a switched wire in the PCM wiring harness that you tap into and this alone saves you about 1 hour in installation.
I do not have any pics of the install yet, but hope to within the next week.
This new kit is now available to everyone. If interested give them a call and get all the details......

What if?

Hey Mark, your name came up ( funny thing ) yesterday when I ordered my bracket kit from Troyer. I did everything and more that could be done with the filthy copper rods, and my fans are sagging a bit after one month. My question is this--Do you think, after doing this install, that it would be possible to install the bracket kit without removing the rods. You see, I epoxyed the nut sides for security, and I'd have to die-grind the ends off to get the filthy rods out. These fans center up without much room to fudge up and down or sideways anyway. Do the brackets hold the fans away from the radiator? If so, I'm screwed. Once the brackets are installed, the rods shouldn't be a threat anymore anyway, 'cause they won't be moving.

It is about time that stupid poke-through leak inducing mounting system was redesigned. I absolutely refuse to stick things into my radiator. Too many people have experienced leaks and other problems with the old style.

Tell you what. I am going to Mikes for the June 14/15th Dyno Day and will have either Neil or Mike take some photos of my fans and post them up.
Or you could just drive down there and join in on the fun

I would like to drive down and join in on the fun but I would like to get some long tube headers installed before I make that trip again and have Mike tweak my tunes. Plus, I need to get my efans installed. My schedule is a little hectic, I will have to see what I can work out ?!

so is it safe to say that the concensus is that the fan kit from troyer you pretty much cant go wrong with? i've been waiting as well for a definitive answer about this as i dont want any damage to my radiator or anything else for that matter. and how invovled is the install? and as far as the belt goes do you get a shorter belt and re-route it or is it still on the fan part just minus the fan?

I just posted a thread on this about 2 weeks ago, after installing mine. I described in detail the procedure, and you may want to read it if you are interested in the brackets. I think they are the solution, and you can install them fairly easily without taking the radiator or the fans out, if you follow the procedure I outlined in my post. Good luck.

Thats good new, i still will never buy a kit from anyone, but sounds like he thought through things this go around.

Why wouldnt you pull power from here like i did?

Thats on the fire wall right behind the battery. All of the trucks power goes through that. Its right after all of the fusible links...

Patman that little wire you installed is not protected by anything. It would burn up before any fuses did, if there was an overload or short.
