Aux. lighting in Grille
Some year when I eventually am able to get my truck, I want to get the Warn XD9000i and mount it with the semi-hidden kit ( I had a trans4mer on my Ranger, but I like the F-150s lines). This left me with the dilema of where to mount off-road lights. Well after seeing several post I really like the idea of having the lights mounted behind the Grille. I would like to know more about how you guys did this. Do you have pics? Whats the largest light you can fit back there (I want to run Hella Black Magis)? Did you notice any difference in cooling? Is the light pattern afected greatly by having the grille in front of the beam? How do you mount it securly so that it doesn't vibrate when the truck is off-roading? Any pics or infor would be greatly appreciated.

i didnt mount mine upside down. The part that jupiter was talking about is plastic or fiber glass but with the metal washers there is no vibrations and when i use them at night i dont see any bounceing around besides what the truck is doing. your question about light out put, it really depends i have a billet grill and all the light comes through but if you have a stock bumper im not sure. shoot me your email address and ill email you some pics of mine and some of one with the stock grill. I have 5 inch **** cepeck light behind my grill, its a snug fit but they fit with no problem.

They're both mounted upside down, but on the PIAA's I rotated the lens; so the word PIAA isn't upside down.
I don't really think any that much light is being lost because being behind the grille. Not that noticable probably.
The PIAA's are 7" and KC's are 6" round. With those I have very little space in between the two.
And after installing a thicker "L" bracket. There's been no shaking or vibration on or off road.
Sorry about the big pic.

Jupiterak,
I have the same truck! I was wanting to know if the Atlas rims come in 7 lug in the 16"s. I've been wanting to get aftermarket rims for my 33"s, but can't find any!

Funkster,
I'm not sure if the Atlas rims come in 16". I know the Baja's come in 16". Go to www.americanracing.com
they have a couple kinds for the 7-luggers.
Also give Shawn at Weld Racing a call. Sorry, I don't have the number, but he had a couple Scorpio rims for sale on Ebay. If you do find them, get them fast. They're very hard to come by.
Also, do you have those 33" Wranglers ATS on the stock rims? If you do, can you post a pic of them? I'm in the process of buying some studded 285's, but was curious how much they buldge out. Plus, the tire dealers are being A$$holes, because they won't mount them on 16x7 rims, so it looks like I'll have to mount them myself.
