Question Throttlebody spacer , yes or no

would like to know if anyone has installed aftermarket t-b spacer like the poweraid.did it raise your gas mileage? What about performance? My truck is a 98 with the 4.6-v8 . Considering this mod to improve mileage more than horsepower. Waiting on the ups man to deliver my new cat-back and airaid intake, thought the poweraid spacer would be a nice adittion to this setup.

they suck ***.i have one on a 97 4.6 .no hp no lb no mpg .i left it on because i couldn't find the bolts i took off.when i add a supercharger i boared out my t-body and the poweraid at the same time.them i felt a hp or two from it.it spins the air that comes in.that ok,but after it goes past that it has to go in to 8 diff paths.i don't think it is spinning any more.all i can say is that if you want to waste your money go a head.i was one of the guinea pigs for this.just do a search on it.we don't need any more guinea pigs any more.they have made to much off of us.trust me on this, and all the other people that will tell you the say thing.alot of people will not post a reply on this because they a tied of talking about this.but thay should still say something so you don't make the say mistake

Go to the Engines forum and do a search on Poweraid. I have one and it is the biggest waste on $90.00 so far. They claim it creates a spiral vortex of air. Well I don't think so, because the air gets broken up and distributed to each combustion chamber. Just my .02.
Alot of people feel the same.

Question

I don't know if that is the deal with the V8 engine or not, but I can say I have one on my V6 and there is a noticable power increse. Not the 15-25hp they advertised but noticable none the less. As for gas mileage I have yet to notice a diffrence from that one part on the other hand my mileage has gone up about 1 MPG after all my mods. Just from reading what everyone has to say I would suggest you steer clear unless you just have the money to throw away.

Thanks guys for your imput. When I read an add for poweraid I thought WOW!! Bolt on this one little part and increase your milage by 2-4 mpg!!! Want one of those!! Then got to thinking, if that was possible then everybody in the world would have one on every type of vehicle imaginable, hell my uncle would have one on his lawnmower! Thanks again! F150online is a great website, the best info on trucks I've seen. Wish I'd found it sooner!

Cool

Runtune,
You might want to do a search. Some of the mods WILL actually increase your mileage and performance. Electric fans, ignitions upgrades, and exhaust seem to be the most popular. I got both performance and mileage increases from my ignition and pulleys.
