spark plug gap with Jacobs DIS
.60 was to much for my system, first i went with .55 that was a good gap, then .60 lost power and take off, then i went with .50,that is what i'm running now.it is the best so far for my truck.i now have a supercharger on so i may go to .45,jacobs said that my be better for me because the added air flow will blow the spark out of it line it goes each time.stock is .44 on a 4.6.i like my system from jacobs so far.it did add some mpg but i didn't do a test before i put it on.every time i add something i need to add something else.add more air need more fuel, more fuel need more air.you can't win when your are like me (more power, more power, more power)
Kevin 3636,
Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll go with .55 and leave it at that with all the hassles that last plug poses. I know what you mean about the mods. I did just about everything I could to improve HP in my Tbird except NO, but I was afraid to do that. Not enough discipline to stay off the pedal; my mechanic friend was afraid I'd blow up the engine before my earnings caught up, so I showed a little temperance. Fool.
