Headers

When and if I do have the money I plan to add headers. Im sure everyone is going to say jbas but I dont have a 600 for a set. I have been looking at bbks are they any good? How do bbks compare to the competitiong? How much will the temperature under the hood and on the surface drop with ceramic headers? Whats the difference between long tube headers and short tube headers? Will my exaust be any louder and will I gain a noticible power increase.

Long tubes flow better and make more power, Mac makes a set of shorties there like 450ish and pacesetter makes long tubes for the same price I have some on order search the name huitt24 he has the pacesetter long tubes with a great custom exhaust!

Sorry I ment ground clearance not gas mileage. I dont have the 5-600 for jbas so I was wondering about the quality of bbks ceramic headers. Are headers the way to go or should I take my money and do a port job first. Note I have to get a paintjob and then as money trickles in I will work on more power. (Im not yet 16 and Im broke)

Both are tough subjects, my truck is a 94 so both are kind of pointless due to lack of potiential. In a couple of days Im going to turn my intake into a ram air. Chip wise all I can do is a module.

I had BBK Headers on my 5.0 Mustang, they were great, heavy duty flanges, nice finish a good quality product. I'm thinking about these as well for my 5.4L

I put a set of Hooker Long tube on my 93 5.8 and they worked great, they were ceramic coated and didn't cost that much. I went with flowmaster big block series mufflers and it sounded pretty good. By the way, the long tube headers will give you more torque. Hope this helps.

Yeah, you will need to fab a new H / Y pipe for your cats if you plan on keeping them and staying legal, also I believe I read that shorties make more torque than long tubes.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

MRWAKE,

What the best price you have seen on the BBK Ceramics? I think I am going to get these too.

The best price I saw was $449.00 shipped at https://www.rpmoutlet.com/f150asp.htm

Let me know,

Thanks!!

That seems like a decent price, I was thinking you also had a 5.4L in your truck.

Good Luck, at least they are cheaper than the ones I need to buy.

Thanks

Nope, long tubes make better torque than shorties.
