Aftermarket air filter Q

I bought my 2000 F150 4x4 5.4L automatic with a K&N intake and filter on it. I would prefer to have the stock intake but at the very least would like to put a 'regular' air filter (non-oiled, use and replace with new) on it.

Does anyone know of direct replacement units that you can buy that will fit on the K&N intake?

I am having a hard time finding a complete, used stock intake and also don't know if the K&N came with a different MAF sensor. I think it did because the intake tube runs right up to the engine intake unit. Just replacing with a regular air filter might be my best bet.

Thanks

Went to auto parts store and they did not have any replacements. Sounds like it is not going to happen so I am going to start calling junk yards to find a stock intake.

I do have another question or 2: With these intakes, is the stock MAF sensor replaced? Also, my cruise control does not work - is that due to having the aftermarket intake system (I do need to check fuses still).

Thanks

Dabird, I've got a stock intake that I'm trying to sell, send me an email and we'll deal.
Also, the MAF is not replaced. And the cruise control might have been bumped while installing the new intake.

AEM makes non-oiled filter which might fit. You will probably have to buy it through one of their dealers. If you really want the stock intake back, check the classifieds on this site, from time to time I see tham there. Go here for more info: http://trucks.aempower.com.

Thank you both.

Zairrman, I sent you an e-mail.

I am leaning more toward going back to stock because I feel the stock setup (at least around the airfilter) is more protective of mud/dust/moisture that is encountered in an off-road situation. If I was going to stay street only, I might not mind as much.

Another person posted about air intake temps possibly being much higher with the aftermarket setups and that got me thinking against my current set up as well. I also think that if I ever need to sell the truck, some buyers might be turned off by an aftermarket set up. I know no one asked my my reasons but I am on my second cup of coffee.

thanks again!
