Any flex lite fan users
I was wondering if anyone was using the flex lite fans. Not the efans, but the clutch monted fans. If so has there been any problems and any noticable gains (i.e. mpg or hp). I was looking at changing out the stock plastic fan for one of their metal flex fans. Any thoughts?
Well, since no one has an opinion, I'll just say: Just make the jump, and get the efans. I see no sense in changing one mechanical fan for another. If you look at the FAL 270 threads, you will conclude that the efan is the way to go.
I though about that. However the efan would be a good adition, but when you get up to speed they don"t help. I'm talking about highway speeds. The flex fan I was looking a would allow for better mpg at highway. I don't think there would be much saving on th acceleration to highway speeds ( my big foot). I was just curious to see if anyone had ever used these.
At speed, they don't need to turn on, the rad is really good at cooling anyways, so a mechanical fan is supposed to all but free wheel anyways because it isn't needed. They serve the purpose well, and e-fans have their own benefits, but see about earlier models, like a 97 has a steel fan.
redrascal, Ive used the dual flex-a-lite fans on my 2000 f-150 and was very happy sad to say ive sold the truck but i kept the efans and if your interested im asking $325 perfect shape.713-825-6296 billy
