oem fan ?

i noticed while changing my belt to a gatorback that my fan is plastic and seems that it will flex at higher speeds- are f-150's like this? just curious-phil

Mine is. It's a good idea to visually inspect it once in a while. The plastic fan on my Explorer got really bad cracks in it after some time and I had it replaced (under warranty) before it destroyed itself or anything else.

Hey Phil,

Mine was plastic also...I just put some Troyer fans on my truck which, for now, is the best performance upgrade I've made. Maybe by Sunday it won't be Also, , I took my throttle body spacer (AIRAID) off...I honestly believe it was hurting my performance. Either that or my truck was feeling spunky the other day. Just to let you know it was a waste IMO.

you guys have the plastic i got the big ol heavy steel fan blades on my 98.
