Question Natural Gas Conversion

With the rising cost of gasoline, I was wondering if anyone has considered converting to natural gas? I live in Oklahoma and natural gas is a lot cheaper than gasoline. A one gallon equivelent of natural gas costs less than $.42. One half the cost of the conversion will be paid by the state in the form of tax credits over a three year period. I was informed that there are 45 CNG filling stations operating now in Oklahoma. You can also fill your tank at home. The cost of the conversion is $4500. The natural gas commission informed me that the fuel milage would remain the same and performance would also remain about the same.

I drive approx. 35,000 miles per year and the way I figured it the system would pay for itself in just over one year.

Any and all comments would be appreciated...

I've certainly seen several city vehicles that are CNG powered. I would hope (haha) that they would make wise use of our tax dollars. Seriously though, these are also cleaner burning than gasoline engines...
