Troyer E Fans

Hi guys, i am going to be installing troyer e fans on my 02 F150 5.4 this weekend. All though the directions look very good I was just wondering if there is any tricks or shortcuts along the way that people have found. Can't wait to have them installed.

it might be easer if you remove the radiator, be very carefull were you put the copper rods i had them wear threw my radiator after awile and ruin it, if it was me i would ditch the copper rods that come with the kit and get some of the perma cool nylon fasteners part # 105, i got mine from www.madenterprises.com he doesnt show them on his site but give him a call he has them for cheap and it is a way better way to mount the fans, it might be the diffrence between a new radiator down the road, good luck

Question E-Fans

bigtruck311
can you be more specific on the 105 nylon fasteners. The web site you linked to is apparently for sale so found nothing there. E - Fans are going on my truck for the next mod, concered with not poking holes in my rad. coil over the long haul. Thanks!

E Fans Installed

Well I finally installed my troyer fans. If I could make any recomendations it would be this. Take off your rad it will be a lot easier. Also have the tool to hold the waterpump pulley when taking off your stock fan. That was a piece of cake once I got the right tool. It is pretty cold here right now so it is hard to get my truck to heat up. The one controller I have on the lowest setting possible and the second I got adjusted just little turn past. I will probably re set my controllers again when I get some warmer weather. But for now i need a rest cause it probably took me 9hrs only because I was trying different ways to get that dam fan off. Also taking my time puttin the rods through the rad. First drive it seemed like i could notice a bit more power by the seat of my pants, and thats great considering that with these heavy trucks. The revs also seem to come up a lot faster. All and all I'm happy. Just want to make sure i got the controllers set where they should be.

I'm in the same boat. Not really warmed up enough to really adjust my controllers. I also could tell a little more power...but it's been 1 week I can't tell anymore....NEED MORE
I spent alot of time on mine too. But mine was wiring. I did the whole solder and splice routine. My buddy lended me the fan tools...but since I had never removed a clucth fan I was clueless. I figure out how to use the tools correctly after I got the fan off.
I put my shift kit in this weekend, so that's my new toy.

Fan Installation

Definitely remove the radiator to do the install. Also go with the nylon straps it will save you radiator work later on. After having to replace my radiator I went with the nylon straps. I found them at my local parts shop. They are advertised for use in adding a transmission cooler to existing applications
