Cool Rain-X

Has anyone ever used this stuff?
I rarely use my wipers anymore.

If you can get it in the jug (washer solvent), dilute it. It may harm some finishes. My clear coat is unaffected. Also, drain out all the blue solvent (they don't mix).

If you get it in the bottle, you have to work at it. Polish the windshield well (until completely clear), and the glass won't get foggy.

This stuff works extremely well, especially at night!

I love the wipe on original type. However after using the mix in my washer tank it developed a mold growth in the tank. I also had a gallon mixed in a jug for refilling and it also developed this mold growth after a few months. I have had to siphon it all out to keep it from clogging up the tubes. I am concerned and am not going to use the washer type mix in my tank anymore. I will continue to apply the original wipe on coating and I like it very much. Keep an eye on it and let me know if you have the same problem with the mix.

Well, maybe that's why I don't see it on the shelves any more. I still swear by the stuff! I noticed it comes in a spraybottle now, too.

Cool

Well, it's been raining here all day, and I sure am glad that I have a nice fresh coat of Rain-X on my windshield. When driving in the rain, Rain-X is just as important as having good tread on your tires, I wouldn't be without it.
As far as the stuff you put in the washer, I haven't seen it.

Don't care about Rain-X...Since the season started last July...we have received .52 inches (that's right, approx 1/2 inch in the last 6 months) here in Central California. We had El Nino with the big rains, now its drought time with La Nina. Rain-X...don't need it here!!!

I use it and love it BUT be careful it will give you a false sense of just how hard it is raining outside. I always find myself driving much faster than all the other traffic especially when it is raining. With my old Goodyear AP's I would hydroplane cause I didn't realise how much water was on the road and there crappy tires anyway. Now I have Michelin LTX A/T's and it goes thru the water real good. Still drive too fast, at least that is what my wife tells me. 25+ years driving, couple of speeding tickets but NO wrecks...knock on wood.
Clear windshield sure is nice in the rain.
Sorry...I been rambling on.

Cool

I use Rain-X and also use the Rain-X cleaner/polish. Cleans the windshield wonderfully and then on with the rain-x. Great product, I love it.

REDONE,
How do you like the Michelin LTX AT's? I just put a set on my truck same size. Haven't even driven it enough to know how I like them.

My young son introduced me to Rain-X a few years ago and have found it to be one of the best products I ever used. I always thought it was a bunch of "hype" advertising but boy, was I wrong. An application on my windshield lasts me about 2 months and very little is needed.

The key is to apply it on a clean windshield and spent a little effort to rub it in well.

I have not been happy with the Rain-X defogger product and have not used the Rain-X windshield washer product since I was given a gallon to use.

One of the reasons that I use the Rain X is to prevent spots from our hard water when washing. It's like wax for your glass.

I, too, am unimpressed with the Rain X antifog junk.

I was in my buddy's service garage just before Christmas, and an old Olds came in with a broken wiper motor. It was a Saturday, and no parts were available till Monday. A little rain-X on his glass, "temporary fix", and we haven't seen the guy since! That stuff works great!
