Dixie horn

I just got a dixie horn for my 97 f150 from JCWhitney. I was wondering if anyone has installed a 5 trumpet horn like this before, and if you could tell me the best way to do this. Thanks

dixie horns

I ordered that exact kit from JC Whitney and installed it about four years ago in my old F-150 (1997 4WD extended cab 5.4). Anyways, from what I remember the kit didnt exactly come with enough stuff to pull off the job to my standards. There was something liek 2 feet of tubing that came with it, but it actually requires much more. I mounted them on a metal bar that I attached to the underside of my hood. From there I used the tubing (both what came with it and what I purchased seperately) to connect the horns to the small air compressor which I also mounted onto the bar. From there, I ran a connection to my fuse box. I ran a connection to a button which I installed (by drilling through) inside the cab so that I could play it by reaching my right hand down. The way I did it requires you to hold the button down the whole time for which you want to play the horns. I have the truck down at the barn, as I got a new truck for about three weeks ago. It's a 99 F-150 4WD extended cab 5.4 off-road package. Anyways, if you wish I could post pics of the set up for you. I am leaving tomorrow morning to drive back to college (North Carolina to Arizona), so I'd have to go take pics of the set-up tonight. I'd be more than happy to though, just let me know. Ooh yea, the horns are nice and I have used them for four years with not a problem so I think that you will be happy with the finished product. You will just have to buy some extra tubing at the least to get them operable.

Sorry about taking so long to respond, but I didnt get a chance to take any pics before I left. Anyways, have you started to install the horns yet? If so, let me know how it came out.
