K&N Air Filter Problem

Hello Guys. Just got back from the shop today. I was hearing a rattle sound on my truck around 2100 rpms. My shop said it was the air intake. I have the tube and the filter and all. I never had this problem when I put the K&N on. I have get a chance to go out and tighten everything. Anyone have any ideas why this could be causing a rattling sound. Drives me nuts because it is between 76-79 mph that I hear it on the highway. Thanks in advance.

if nothing is loose on the intake, i think you should start looking other places for the rattle i dont think it is the intake

Do you just have the filter or the entire intake kit? If you just have the filter and the stock intake...take a look where the intake meets the driver side quarter panel. Mine came loose at that point and was causing a rattling noise. But it was at lower rpms.

I have the K&N system on my truck and when I put it on there the rubber bushings that came with the kit that fits on the airbox came loose because I didn't put them on straight. All I did was take the bushings off and went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and bought a bigger size bushing and put it on so the metal bracket wouldn't rattle. Haven't had a problem since then. Hope this helps.
