g tech pro
does anyone have any experience with the g tech pro? for those that aren't familiar it's a product made by tesla electronics that is supposed to measure horsepower, 1/4 times, and 0-60 times. all you have to do is plug the unit into your cigarette lighter. it's intended to be a way to measure and record performance changes from your engine as a result of modifications you may have done. i'd really be interested to see just how well chip/filter and other modifications enhance engine performance. well any info about the g tech pro will be highly appreciated.
I love my G-TECH, it works very well and is great to compare cars with.
It works well enough to tell me that all my mods did nothing to improve my performance!!!!! It feels faster but it is not even 1 mph faster in any catagory!!! top speed also included.
I used it in my car (a miata) and it is accurate enough to determine which mods work.!

I ordered mine last week. I have followed this topic on a number of boards and so far..no knocks. You input the weight of your vehicle and it measures the G-force you generate...from there on in...it's basic math. Isn't technology wonderful.
It sounds ideal for determining how much HP/Torque is gained by doing a particular mod. Most people can't afford to dyno their vehicles everytime they tweek it and after they have done a number of mods they don't even know which ones made a difference. It's even possible a mod could decrease performnce. As Ford and others work to get more HP out of every cube, they often enhance drive train components to a point where they are in fact superior to some aftermarket mods. For example, a particular mod might improve HP by 10hp in a 99 model F150, but provide no increase in a 2000 because Ford has reengineered the part themselves. It has been proven from actual dyno results that far too many unrealistic claims are made or implied by some aftermarket manufacturers. We all need to know we are getting good value for our money. I am sure the G-tech will pay for itself quickly.
