Tach install info

How hard would it be to install a Tach in my truck. Is there a thread already started or a "How To article". Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

No too hard.

Get an Autometer "Tach adapter" and your all set. You can run any conventional tach on a COP system. I got mine from JEGG's.

You might also consider swapping your instrument cluster. There are several people here that have done that. You can upgrade to a XLT or Lariat cluster with the Tach....good luck.

I finally found the wire for my tach, its a white wire with a pink stripe on it, located in the wire harness going into the guage cluster. I dont know if its the same on the newer trucks, so this might not help you at all

How do you defeat the PATS after the instrument cluster swap Rich?

Would swapping instrument clusters be a plug and play type swap. I really dont want to splice any wires.

Thanks
