Post Mudguards

Would like to put some mudguards on my truck. The factory ones look nice but don't look like they would be very effective.I tow a boat in summer and snowmobiles in winter.Anyone know of any other aftermarket mudguards that are more effective but still look nice?

I just had the Ford "Molded Splash Guards" installed.. They seem pretty functional to me.

After much searching - Catalogs, Stores, etc., I got the Ford product.

Question

I just bought a set of the molded splashguards from Ford and intend to put them on myself since it doesn't look to difficult. Does anybody have any installation tips?

RedRyder,
If you drill into the metal, coat the screws with grease before instaling them to prevent rust.

Thanks Bent. The only part of it that has me wondering is on the rear set it looks like some of the screws would go through the plastic wheel well trim ring instead of into metal. That just doesn't seem right to me...I guess the best thing to do is go up to the local Ford dealer and find an 4 x 4 ORP and see how they are attached.

Cool

Some of the holes are push in snap type fasteners. I may be more difficult than it looks though. It took my dealer two tries to get them on, and they are still not right. Some of the screws are falling out (stripped). I had them glue them on because I was afraid dirt would get down the top edge and rub off all the paint. I don't think they will come off now. Good luck

You will have a problem with the rear wheels inner most fastener. In order to drill it you will either need an offset drill or you have to remove the rear wheels. This is not in the instructions. Been running around for months now without that screw! The Ford Factory Molded is the way to go. Only thing that fits right.
