Post Tornado

Has anyone bought the Tornado that you put in the intake and is supposed to swirl the air? If so, was it worth it?

Past posts and Consumer reports indicate it's not worth anything. Do a search and see the past postings.

thanks for the input T Ellenberger. I wasn't sure because you see them advertised everywhere, but just haven't heard of anyone that has one. You know?

Three words: Piece of junk. How is swirling air supposed to get you more horsepower?

I think you'll get more horsepower from the propeller hitch that has been discussed in "best bang for the buck"!!! It's only $19.99!!!

Let's take a toilet for example. It "swirls" the water. How long does it take for the water to exit the bowl? Now, go out to your water hose in the yard and turn it on. The water comes out of it with out "swirling". The engineers that design heads, ports, etc. go to great lengths to keep the intake charge and exhaust gasses from "swirling" as it enters or exits the combustion chamber. This is because, on the intake side, an air/fuel mixture that is swirling takes longer to get into the cylender. Reducing it's volumetric efficiency. On the exhaust side it slows the flow, reducing the scavenging effect and creating excessive back pressure in extreme cases. So, to make a long story longer, YOU DON'T WANT SWIRL! Tornado no good, throw in trash.
