Bed Rails

I have a 99 Flareside and looking for Bed Rails. The fender bed caps do not show where the stake pockets are located. Are there any pockets? The caps are not smooth either, so if you put regular rails on them, they will not sit flat on the caps. Any information would be appreciated.

I thought bed rails were supposed to raise up off the sidebed caps?? Like a long handle over the cap. So why would you worry about it sitting flat? There are some stainless steel bed rails in the Quadratec mag. for $159.95 for the short bed. You can request this mag through their web site: www.quadratec.com I dont care for the web site, but the Ford Essentials mag they send you is great.

Sorry, the Flaresides do not have side rail stake pockets. I think it is because the bed sides are made of fiberglass and wouldn't hold up to any loads. I'm sure there are alternative methods to attaching these side rails though. Unfortunatley, they probably include drilling into the top of the bed. Good luck.

I've been doing some searching and found another site that has what they called side rail caps, and these are flat. If you're interested the site is www.dawsbetterbuilt.com I just got my nerf bars through them. Well, kind of through them. You have to call their 800 # and they tell you where's the nearest place to buy. I lucked out by being able to order through Wallmart at a substantial savings.

Thank you. What I mean when I said about being flat is, where the end of the rails attach to the fender cap. The end of the rail will be sitting on top of the ridges on the fender cap instead of sitting flat. Once again, thank you all for your information.
