Performance. . .

I've got a 94 Flareside reg cab 2 wheel drive with the 4.9, I've already got headers an x pipe and flowmasters all the way back and an intake. My plans are to throw a whole performance camshaft kit on with ros springs rocker arms (the works). Along with and electric fan. Then of course a performance ignition system and a jet chip. Then to push my 33 inch mud terrains some 4.11 gears in the rear end. My only real questions are how much should i expect for the install of the cam kit and gears? And what kind of rear end do i have is it the dana 44 or the ford 8.8 10 bolt? and if its 29,31,35 splined or what?

I'll comment on the rear end. 8.8" 31-spline. That gear change in my area would cost around $600 total.

I am not a fan of the 4.9, but if you are happy with it...

Swap in a 302 or 351, there is more performance parts available for them.

my 2 pennies

oh yeah it is an 8.8

oh, I forgot. If you plan on swapping gears, do that first. You will gain some "lost" performance due to taller tires. Then see how much money you want or "need" to spend on the engine.
