Question Headers???

Hey guys,
First post from a long time reader, but i was wondering if anyone here had any ideas as to what kind of headers i should be looking at/for when i am looking for them. If anyone has had them done or know of any ones that i should really look at that would be great. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Being a long time reader, we shouldn't even have to mention using the SEARCH function...

Ahh, no one uses the search feature it seems like. But hey it ups everyones post count when they dont

Anyway, If you are wanting them for performance, you might want to wait till you get some other things on if your truck is stock/somewhat stock engine wise. The stock manifolds on the 5.4 are the same ones used on the supercharged Lightnings, so they flow pretty good. Ive heard a lot of times when L owners added aftermarket shorty headers and it made little difference(if their L wasnt heavily modded), so they will do even less for your N/A 5.4. Just letting you know to help you save some money if you are looking for performance mods or bang for the buck mods. Not trying to tell you what to do or anything. But they do make things sound sweet.

However, if your looking for the most horsepower, long tube headers are the way to go. They are gonna take some work with the stock exhaust to hook them up.

As far as brands- Pacesetter, Edelbrock, Ford Racing, and JBA is all I can think of at the moment. Bassani might, cant remember for sure though.

Anyway Ill shut up now

Good luck

I tried JBA and Bassani shorties on my 2000 5.4. They're low on the list for HP per $$$ and high for hassles and racket. If you want headers go long tube:
