Air Force 1 Intake Installation and Opinions

I just recently put on an Air Force 1 Intake and I love it. Installation wasn't that bad but the mounting bracket did need some adjustment. It seemed that the mounting bracket needed to be more at a 90 degree angle instead of the way it comes from the factory. The air filter design is ingenius and the performance is proof. I haven't noticed any extra noise except a faint hissing noise that may not even be coming from the intake. Mine didn't come with a heatshield so I'm assuming I don't need one. If you have pictures of yours, please post them here or have a link. I would like to see other installations. All in all, a great product that really makes a difference.

I don't have anything bad to say about the AF1. It has lived up to all the hype. Great Product!!!!

I hope that they will release the Air Force One for the 5.4’s soon. I heard the revised prototype was complete and ready for testing and final approval.

That hissing noise my come from having the intake tube pushed over the 2 intake holes (If you have it to far back, it will obstruct the holes and air will be restricted trying to get into the engine). I had to keep pulling my tube (lol) until I didn't get any more hissing.

When I had the two holes covered, my truck didn't even start. I pulled it out to where it should be and everything worked. I guess its just the slight noise the intake makes. Just wondering noirluispher, does your intake press up against anything when you have the mounting bracket as tight as it can go or does the air filter stay exactly in the middle where the previous one went?

How much does the AF1 intake run? I am looking at dropping $275 on a K&N intake, which is the better choice?

98F150XLT4.6L - It stays pretty much in the center; there is no movement at all.

So, after reading all the reviews about the AF1 intake, I ordered one from Troyer. Got a call back... they're on backorder.

Two weeks until I get mine... sad.
