MAF shouldnt be a problem unless its out of calibration for ur injector size. but from sounds of it its likely throwing a lean code. but check the maf and make there u see the two sensor wires still intact. or u can just clean it.

 

I put an aftermarket system on my 97 and had the check enging light on too. for me, I forgot to re-install the IAT sensor back into the tube. I know it may sound retarded, but double and triple check all the plugs and also reference your old intake to make sure your new one has all the same holes.
